most people tend to put 55W for highbeams. but again the problem with HID highbeam is they dont come up to full brightness quick enough to be of instant use.

the instant use for me isnt ever used/helpful. just as quick to jump on the horn imho if theres a reason to flash someone. i prefer my sweet vision in the hills

Istant use is good for me as when I turn my lights on they go super bright then dim down before coming back to normal.

Flashing the HIDs on and off quickly is bad for them. Unlike with halogen globes.

why dont you guys just carry a 12gauge in the car like every other normal person?
IMO, just run a set of bright bulbs, running HIDS in the highbeam (apart from H4's) are a waste of money...

For city driving, yes, but when you do 5+ hr runs on country roads where you can go 20 mins without seeing another car, i know what i'd rather have

yeah i remember the one, very nicely done, still retained the pop up too. the lights were motorbike headlights from memory and apparently extremely bright without HIDs. pretty sure 323f had more about it somewhere

ok what i have in mind is have all 4 lights like so in the pic
but 1 set would be dual filament for the high beams or it would look like this which is ummm... just trying to keep it to a budget where others could do it also bidding on some lights on ebay which are these, just for trial got a spare popup from the wreckers months ago to do it on the pop-ups are 7"wide (177.79mm)those spotlights are 90mm wide ea(3.54")x2 =180mm wide few mils wider but not much of a differance but will fit deffinately

your h4 will have 3 wires going in to it right?
cant you just cut the wires, have one for high beam one for low beam? (share the same earth..) h3/h1 use just spade terminals so its not like its hard to wire them lol |

35 w in halogen will give u fck all. Mikey was refering to HID voltages i think. Usually h4 uses a 55/65 or so,something. I think it will pay to find what your system can take. Eg most you can put safetly in a ba foggs is 100w bulbs. U might wanna put 55w lows and 75w highs or something if your wiring can take it

Perfect thread for this : can you get new lenses for the headlights of an SP20? Mine are all chipped (used to be a country car) but not enough to justify new housings etc. Thinking about giving this a go if I can get my hands on one of those rotary things. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ht=Audi+A3+56k
The before pics are what my lenses look like now lol |
