hehe i jsut got them to throw in stuff - and the case was the best one they had - firm padding, but yeah not 100%keen

i'd rather an aluminium case with molded spots for everything

I had a Lowepro for my A70, worked really well, and I can't remember what I had for the FZ10, but it was an SLR sized bag, and in that way fitted the Panasonic really well, just wish I could remember what it was, but it was a bit short on padding...

Me = buying a couple more supporters shirts... 1 being a black Honda shirt (in anticipation for the car I'm planning on upgrading to in a couple of years).

Gavin, still haven't received my camera, but it was shipped on Friday. Was hoping it was turn up today cause I was off work, could have gone bag shopping. But, maybe tomorrow now. Working in the morning and knocking off at 2.30pm so all fingers crossed that it turns up

Gavin, I ended up just getting a Lowepro Digital camera pouch (model D-RED 25AW) . . . was going to get a larger case but I put the camera in and it had plenty of padding and held the camera pretty snugly. Didn't want it floating around in a larger bag, so this will do me just fine. Has a pocket inside for the SD-Card. $38.

Oh, and has a separate section that comes out and covers the entire bag to make it completely rain proof. And also can hold 4 AA batteries in separate compartment.

Hey Boyd, I like the sound of the Lowepro, I had one for my A70 and it rocked! For batteries I just get hohum 2000-2100mAh NiMh, I used to get hundreds of flash charges off those in the past, no need to go any higher really, but I guess you could try 2400s, 1800s are uselss...

I think I just worked out why the rechargeables didn't work...2 that I had were 2050... whilst the rest were 2100. Dunno how I got 2050's though, they were the ones I had in my wireless mouse so I dare say the camera may not have liked the mix (or the 2050's didn't recharge properly alongside the 2100's).

Crazy stuff

energizer 2500MaH in mine... jsut picked them up in coles... good 8 hour charge and the camera is lasting the day out, and about 4 hours of flash photography....

guess the biggest downside on battery life in this camera is the LCD viewfinder...

These ultra zooms use a lot of juice too. In contrast, when I was in Norway with my A70, I got 500+ images off 1 charge of batteries, and I charged these batteries a week before I used them in Norway... The ultrasonic zoom and bigger LCD with IS will suck up the juice, but it doesn't get any better than 4xAA when it comes to longevity.
