Well if you read me post in the public area, you will be aware im in the market for a new front bar. This is due to some stupid woman (my apologise to any female members, but 90% of women kill cars) decided to reverse into the front right of my car and then take off yelling at me for breaking her rear light.... go figure.

Anyhow being the gentleman I am, I yelled numerous obscenities at her and failed to grab her licence plate to send the insurance goons after (my bad).

So I made a trip to the local panelbeater and got a quote for $1K to fix the panel which included re-molding the front bar (its nice and dented + scratched to buggery). I figure I may as well spend a bit more and get a nice front bar to give the car a meaner look. Obviously this is going to cost a bit more, but money well spent. ( Any one replaced the front bar and can give me an idea of the cost? inc spray. )

I found a few kits online that caught my eye and was wondering if any of you guys have possibly dealt with these companies, anything I should look out for in a fiberglass replacments or if u have an alternative recommendation, your feedback is appreciated.

Kit 1: http://www.ssv.com.au/largeimage.cfm?productid=13945
Kit 2: http://www.aerobody.com.au/page08/page08.htm (Silver Astina, not very clear but ive asked for better pics)
Kit 3: From FibreSports (no pic on the web)

Ciao.[/colorost_uid0]

i've always really liked the silver ATH kit for the BA Astina - if i had a hatch i'd probably get this one...[/colorost_uid0]

I think Theo will tell you all the Joys of a Veilside kit.
Looks mad but is too much hassle for my liking.
I have enough problems now.

Sorry just to add, a new front bar is only about $220
in case the bar and bottom lip was a better option for
you.

Regards

I think its more an issue of the driving around than fitment.
I have enough problems trying to park at Miranda Fair, Theo
wouldn't even get past the driveway in let alone the humps.
All depends on how much you want to lower it. The VS bar
looks great on a lowered car but there's the problem. I am
about an inch lower than Theo but have nowhere near the
same problems which is great for me as I zip around a bit.
Having said that I have a broken front lip and also busted
side skirts from a tree root so just warning you.

Regards

Mal

p.s You s'posed to be a gentleman and not look Jynx.[/colorost_uid1]

Hmmm, I work in the fair at the moment but my car isnt lowered yet so it probably wouldnt be an issue untill I looked at dropping the car a few inches (which was on my things to do). I scrape on a few of those ramps at std ride height let alone a lowered car

I guess this is all part of modifying the car, you just need to learn which route to take to get into the carpark without snaping your front bar.

Curious....

Meh gentleman my ass..[/colorost_uid0]

Was a pretty good knock, i suppose when she hit the breaks, the force would have been alot greater hence the damage.

I guess she was a bit intimidated by the fact I was yelling my head off and running towards the car [/colorost_uid0]
