Thanks for the Welcome

Thanks very much for the welcome.I am so pleased to find others who are interested in Astina,s.I wil try to post some photos of the car.My first few jobs on the car are change the timing belt ,brake fluid, coolant, filters etc.The car has only 61000k but due to its age I thought it wise to change the timing belt.A mechanic friend said to change the water pump and small rubber hose near it at the same time.I'm not sure what he means but I guess it will become clear once all is exposed. What is the best workshop manual for the BGSP please?I would also like to install a good sound system. At the moment it has the original unit and speakers fitted. If anyone wants it later they can have it free.I better stop now before I write a whole page............I also would like advise on nice looking wheels...........it has steel 14,s at the moment.I think the original alloys might be ok.How hard are they to find?Cheers Richard

I'd say the best workshop manual for it is the appropriate Haynes Repair Manual, which is for "Ford Laser & Mazda 323 1990 thru 1996". I got mine from Supercheap for a little over $20, but they're also at Repco and other general auto repair shops etc. It's definitely worth it.

Contents: (borrowed from Maztina's FS post)
1. tune up/maintenance
2a. 4 cylinder engines
2b. general overhaul procedures
3. cooling/heating/air cond
4a. fuel/exhaust systems for EFI
4b. fuel/exhaust for carby
5. engine electrics
6. emission control
7a. manual trans
7b. auto trans
8. clutch/driveline
9. brakes
10. suspension/steering systems
11. body
12. chassis electrical systems
wiring diagrams
