Rotor size is 299mm
Caliper and bracket weigh 6.5KG each. When I do the swap I will weigh the stockies.

The calipers and brackets dont move, so you will only be comparing weight gain to the car.

The other interesting bit will be what is the increase in rotating mass between the two rotors? You should measure the rotor mass too.

On another different topic:

I am looking to do a small order from AWR in the next month or so.
Question - does anyone what/need anything from them and be willing to combine postage?

If there is no interest, I'll leave it at that but if there are some keen people I will create a new thread.

Cheers

I have a question to answer your question:

Engine mounts- I understand they are different for 1.8l and 2.0l on the drivers side? Is this due to the F/G series boxes or something different?

Another question: Can anyone recommend any exhaust shops in Brisbane?

Yes, the difference is due to the gearboxes. I know the front and rear mounts will work with either, I *think* that the transmission mount should work with an F series but I'm sure that the drivers side is only for a G series.

I have used Rob Bliss and CES in the past - happy with both in the sense that I got what I paid for.

Excellent. Well if you're going to get stuff from them, I might get a set of engine mounts from them for a 2L.. at least the ones for the gearbox anyway so that I can get this G series in.

Cool, I'll have to hit them up.

3 mounts are different... only the mount by the radiator is the same
the left side mount (gearbox top mount) can be made to work, but it is shaped differently and the harmonic damper bolts up differently... it may or may not fit with that

the rear mount, it will have issues because there's a harmonic damper that will hit the intake manifold, or come close to it...

none of the aftermarket performance mounts (AWR, etc) will have those harmonic dampers, and should not have any issues with F series or G series

Rhys, if you're doing the G series conversion might as well get the 2.0L versions. I have seen photos comparing both 1.8L & 2.0L mounts & they are all in the same spot..

Another exhaust shop to hit would be Exotic Exhausts at Wacol, Both Jared & I have now had stuff done there (family friend works there) and they do some real quality work Talk to Mal and say that Marc with the Blue 323 sent ya

Yeah, may as well, I guess. Just another thing to add to the ever growing list!

Exotic said they'd do a magnaflow cat 2.25inch piping and muffler including the fitting of the extractors for $700.. These are the first guys who've given me a price- I sent the other guys emails and it doesn't look like exhaust shops know how to respond to emails so I'll have to call them!

Edit: $720-800 from Rob Bliss

Will only work with ecu, if ecus expecting it. Wideband is 0-5 volt while narrowband is not.

same spots, but the belt side mount is different between G series and F series... mount to engine bracket is shorter on G series but longer on F series (engine sits closer to centre with F series)

the gearbox top mount is also shaped a little differently as I said
but of course the mounting location on the chassis is all the same

How do I check the timing on the 1.6 ZM engine? I put a light on it and it seems the marks on the pulley just keep jumping around...

I've got a hesitation when I hit the accelerator at idle that I'm trying to troubleshoot...

Spark plugs cleaned and gapped, MAF sensor cleaned, car has just been serviced...

Have a look at the DBA catalogue and check sizes.

Have a look at the rear of the spokes or the barrel for casting marks or stamps/stickers/words

They're just too generic to tell otherwise - most manufacturers have made something like that at one point in time.
