BG Astina: Climate control outside air intake location?
I'm wondering where the climate control system draws its 'outside' air from? Is there a hose or fitting somewhere that I can run some ducting too? I don't have air con and when I'm sitting in peak hour the car gets hot as hell, so I need to run some ducting or something to the outside air intake to make sure it's not blowing engine bay heat at me.

the wiper area under the windscreen is a low pressure area... while the car is at speed the air will get down there and under the cowl area into the HVAC system... it's "cowl induction" much like what people do with those bonnets on those hot rod V8s

Have you removed the weather seal at the back of the hood? If you have, that'll be disrupting air flow and preventing the low pressure area forming. Also... it doesn't really help much with underbonnet cooling

I have removed that rubber to try and get the turbo heat out of the engine bay. I'm not really wanting to duct it for performance, I'm just trying to get some cooler air into the cabin when the car isn't moving.

+1 - my engine temps actually dropped a couple of degrees comparatively

if you have removed the runner seal from the back of the bonnet. then you climate control will be sucking some of that hot air in.
probably bese to wind the windows down, in this situation. |

and if possible, install A/C in the car my philosophy is: if it's a street driven car and can have A/C, then A/C should be in the car if it's a race car, then remove all the useless parts of course and since a street driven car isn't going to really be raced, any significant weight reduction or reduction of parasitic power losses is a moot point

It is both TheMAN. It's my only car, and I've been to the track in it and am going back on the 11th. AC could be reinstalled as I still have the stock turbo dump pipe bolted on. But I would need to source a compressor and all the engine bay lines as everything was removed by the previous owner when they did the BPT swap. I didn't really need this thread to blow up like this, especially since I can deal with it and it's not life threatening. On the track I couldn't give a **** what the climate control is doing, it's all turned off anyway.
