New Paint, New Stezza, New Rims, New Engine....
Ok so ive just done the paint on the BG and am cleaning it up alittle more, while im in the process of polishing a panel at a time within an inch of my life ive been looking at rims.
Mainly due to the fact that the rims i have on the BG are very dangerously buckled (to the point where it shudders the steering wheel in anything over 60k's!!) and i have also outgrown the design and the abundance of gutter rash... So, Ive decided to find a new set... Ive been thinking Black, White or Bronze and have seen both White and Bronze work very well with the matching gunmetal gray paintwork. Im also looking for something in 17"x7" in 5, 6, 8 or 10 spoke design with our typical +40 to +45 offset. 1. This rim is a Konig Zero 10 spoke design that features a very nice red strip around the side (A close imatation of the CE28 Volk Time Attack Rims) http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7838/.f 2.This rim is a Konig BriteLite and is an 8 spoke design that has a machined face with black as the backdrop colour (the correct term has elluded me this far). I parcticularly like the tiny bit of dish with this one...but the colour scheme was not one i particularly gave the node for http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7089/.f 3.The Konig Feather is a nice single coloured rim that features a 8 spoke design and has a simply nice to it me thinks also comes in the straight 4 lug too! http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7092/.f 4.The Runaway Shadow Black rim has a decent amount of dish and would look quite nice on the BG, dont know if the dish would work on my little warrior though...just a nice thought, come to have a closer look the sizes do accomadate everything for the grey warrior (+40 offset, 17", nice dish etc) http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7819/.f 5.This one is a defient nice with the straight black and the simpe double 5 spoke design, the MINUZ is definetly a good looker but unfortunately only comes in 15 inch BLOODY HELL!!!!! http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7102/.f 6.The first bronze rim i liked, the Helium Bronze is a simple rim with its 8 spoke design and also features a slight angle of dish (if any at all...lol) its just hard to find out whether it would look any good against the silver hue?... http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c....t.A/id.7096/.f I know most of these are KONIG only designs but i will weed through some other brands as the days go by, in between now and then i would appreciate any comments or opinions on what would work with my car?...(you all should know what it looks like by now). Also if there any Photoshop crazed peps out there that could give us a quick (and very undetailed) look at some i would appreciate that (my GF is a bit buzy atm and isnt used to the car stuff...) Also alot of the rims i have chosen have different colours such as the Helium in Matte Black but the stud pattern is 4x100 and they say it only comes in 6.5x15" why is this exactly?...its very annoying?.. What would the car do if i was to put 17 inch rims on instead of say a set of 15 inch rims both with low profile tyres?...With the 17 inch rims fill the guards more but slightly heighten the vehicle. Would the 15 inch rims make the car way to low and harder to drive?.. Chers, Jon

bud we shall catch up, not this weekend but the one after...and we can put my 18s on your car, just so you can get an idea on how the car will sit with bigger rims...
also since your wheels are buckled i have my superlights here you can borrow if ya want...would only need cheap as piss tyres on them...second hand 14s and you shouldnt get the wobbles, and it would be alot safer for you and others

i agree those r the best by far by my taste. but one small change, and again this is my taste, a polished lip and centre cap look the best on a black rim. think bout this, when u r going 60+ the thin black spokes dissapear and u r left with 2 rings that look like you are floating

1 - hotness and one of the best selections
2 - need to see these in real life as the pic doesn't show the the machining at all 3 - black will match grey car 4 - looks to much bling with that many spokes 5 - 6.5 width rim a waste of time 6 - bronze wheels + grey car don't match at all using a overseas site, make sure that you are abl;e to get any of those rims in Australia before you actually make your final selection to avoid dissapointment. the above pic + will combo is what i'd go for. more dish would be nice, but it does look hot in black + red lip on the grey BG. ryan |

Both Ozzy Tyres and Keith 4 Wheels supply Konig rims so that is not a problem.
You can get a similar dished rim like ZERO but the spoke design is very different and i think they also add some polished chrome to the mix I to like the ZERO the most and that pic (thanks heaps PUTONYOURSHOES!!) definetly shows a + in my books, pitty the car is still the gay standard height in that pic.. This pic is a bit better height wise but the angle might be a bit hard to work with:

I was thinking of plainting my stock rimms black, leaving a ploshed silver surround. Then white calipers. Sorry only have paint (after last vista melt-down) so pics a bit crap but you get the idea.
I think black on the darker bodies looks best, at the moment that is... my vote's for the black/red stripe Last edited by shaikaka; 09-05-2008 at 01:06 PM. |

ozzy tyres don't supply the whole konig range, i found a set of nice 6 spoke charcoal grey konigs with a polished lip only to find ozzy tyres wouldn't get them for me. apparently there was "not enough demand to justify importing".
i like the feather black, it just needs a polished lip or something to break up the colour

Im looking at a set of WORK EMOTION XD9 rims but unfortunately they only come in Bronze, Silver and Metal...they would look ultra cool in Matte Black with Blue RAYS wheel nuts...

XD9s would be 17x7.5 at the smallest and cost $700+ each rim. Plus the centre caps are sold seperatley too. But would look ultra cool as you put it. If you're will to spend that kind of cash on wheels alone, just buy a set and spray them in matte black when they arrive.
As above I have given my opinion as what I thin looks good from your choices given. Have you gone down to both those places and seen what they can get without importing? Ryan |
