Hardtop centre speaker is bung! what to do

Hey guys, I have a Astina hardtop 96, which has a centre speaker. Hooking it up was easy, have had it hooked up for a few months. Its bung now, starts crackling, etc.

Apart from just not using it, what can I do to replace it? It appears to be a 2.75" speaker (7cm from side to side), and I havent been able to find any speakers of the same size.

Ideas? possible to source a speaker this size?

Centre speaker?

Ive got a hardtop and have never come across this.

You have the rear quarter panel, the front doors and the tweeter in the dash. Am i missing something?

Where is this 7cm speaker located?

redline the centre speaker is the tweeter in the dash. its under the grill, you may not have it.

Dogo at one point was going to fit something better (3.5icn from memory), but i don't think he ever did due to needing to cut stuff under the dash to get anything to fit.

don't know why you'd bother, it produces absoloutley rubbish sound.
Anything u hear from it is bounced off glass, so a really nasty sound!
Just pull it out, cut the wires goin to it, and enjoy the other 4.

Spend your time replacing them if sound quality is what u r after.

Yup I was going to put in a 3.5 speaker in there.

You need to cut some of the plastic under the grill to get it to fit, but it does go in with careful placement of the grill's "legs"

no problemo

They've both spare really. I cut up the dash and never put the speaker in.

I have a clarion centre speaker amp as well. Does your HU have speaker out for the centre channel or just RCA ?
