G'Day,
*Looking at getting some driving/fog lights. *Would prefer 100/110mm round (not yellow). *Prefer somebody in the Sydney/Newcastle area (frieght cheaper), but if not, no matter! Would rather give you guys the money than some big company earning multi-millions.

Thanks [/colorost_uid0]

Kewl, thanks. *Are the Hella better than Narva? *I've seen Narva (although only 55w each) for $105-$115.

I should have mentioned, 2nd Hand OK (as long they work!!)[/colorost_uid0]

Fogs are usually 55w and driving lights 100w. Depends on
if its to light up the road or have the fog light look. Hella's
were from memory 100w but you can change the bulbs down.
I liked the Hella's cause the glass was see through and not
the frosty you usually get with fog lights.

Thanks. It's actually mainly for driving, so 100w is what I'm looking for. The reason I need 100/110mm is I plan to put them in the holes designed for the factory standard ones (covered with black blanking plates at the moment). The only problem with that is they may be a bit low for driving lights, but anything has to better than what the standard head lights put out. [/colorost_uid0]

mine give a good beam into the distance, but it's hard to find a happy medium where they also give a good spread on the road. and they always get moved with my hard suspension every time i go over a bump...

i'm thinking of changing mine to 55w bulbs so i can use them during normal diving, as don't forget that 100w are only for use with your highbeam lights, not with normal headlights.

oh yeah, you will have to make a small cut in your bumper to fit them. i had to make a cut in the upper part to attached the mounting points, and still have them centred in the round holes.[/colorost_uid0]

Good point, although the only 100mm lights I've found are all 55w anyway. *

I had a feeling I'd have to do some cutting and chopping to get them in. *Oh, and to top it all off, I've got a "Missile Switch" cover for the switch (pity it's not hooked up to a NOX system!), just a little indulgence on my part, I'm an aviation buff and a pilot.[/colorost_uid0]

If you only want them for long drives then you could get
one of those pretend bull bars that I have seen on a
couple. Not sure where they connect to the car but
didn't look like they needed cutting to get in and raises
the lights to above the bonnet. Just an option. Astina's
look real good with the spoties down the bottom. If I can
figure out how to have both mesh and spots will look into it.

Kewl, thanks Mal. I'd mainly use them for freeway driving. I drive to/from Newcastle uni a couple of times a week (well, most days), and coming home at night, you can't see sh!t unless you have highbeams on, and you can't always do that.
Having the lights down the bottom would serve two (well, OK three) purposes:
1) Fog lights. Cause they're low(er) than headlights, they'd work better.
2) Driving lights. Not the best position for driving lights, but anything's gotta be better than normal headlights, uggh
3) Looks. Looks pretty damn kewl (check out Dan's car).

I don't actaully mind chopping it up a bit, I've got to get some scratches from a close encounter with a concrete barrier fixed (barley legal tyres, wet road, tight corner, you get the picture  ), so I could have the 'mistakes' fixed up at the same time.[/colorost_uid0]

Yeah, Dan has already told me that, I'm looking at Narva at the moment. *They have 100mm 55w for $105 at AutoPro, unless somebody has some 2nd hand ones they want to flog.[/colorost_uid0]
