Black out badges, yay or nay?

Hey guys,

As per the title, just wondering what your opinion is in regarding to blacking out the badges on the rear of the car.

I am in talks with a bloke in Ohio in the US, to swap him my 323Astina badge for his Protege5 badge, only thing is that he has blacked out the badge (in matt or gloss black i assume).

I have seen a few pro5's in the US do it, just wanting to know if I should go ahead and do the rest while im at it?

Please put why you have made your decision...

Cheers
Marc

I'm not a fan of it on blue car, neither am I of black wheels on blue cars.

BUT......

You are getting black rims on right? So have black tail/head lights, black rims. Then yes the black badges should tie all in well.

So......

I voted no, but I'm more of a yes-no.

Ryan

p.s. Sorry for my long winded 2c.

Nah I reckon the effect would be lost on a dark blue car, you'd have to squint to see the damn things...

They'd say, "Hey that's a Astina, but why has it got a Protege badge on it? Damn ricer..."

Do the make a Astina5 badge? I do like the look of the black and red badge. If you do go and do it. The red 5 will stick out against the black and blue. And that would look cool. Kinda like the pink STI badges on Subarus.

I'll take the constructive on the shoulder, just trying to make it different from the aussie versions, thus trying to track down a pro5 bumper as well...

No such thing was made as im aware, only protege5, 323Astina & 323F badges were available for the BJ hatchbacks.

Im also considering taking the mazdaspeed badge off the rear, replacing it with the Mazda it use to have and putting the MS one in the grille...
