v6 Gearbox options

I am chasing any info on the v6 JDM gearbox labelled LZ (G561 casing) it has added LSD and I am soon to pull the bugger apart. I have been unsuccessful in tracking down any information on this at all. So those with nothing to do and a bit of net searching experience may feel that they wish to help the poor Batty out. I can find NO info on the box or the LSD so feel free to give it a go!!
Anything at all will be great and I mean anything

i posted this a while ago, i had another search and came up with even less

the lsd is called a screw refuse, some sti's came with it and some gt starlets

"The system which restricts the differential motion of the left and right driving wheel the screw refuse coupling (the multiple disc clutches) due to function, transmits power of the engine to the road surface without wastefulness. It improves takeoff characteristic and travelling stability"

i also found that kaaz use to make a 1.5 way lsd but stoped it cos it didnt well much

also screw refuse is the tanslations that google tanslate gives me from this "????" so if u some one can read japanese it might give up a better answer

      機械式LSDと標準LSD(ビスカス&トルセン)とは構造的に全く異なるLSDであるために、その特徴や性能も異なります。

      左右駆動軸に回転速度差は生じないので、左右サイドギヤは同一回転となる。

            PINION cross axis (one piece) ... It is held at the cam of a pressure ring and becomes the axis of rotation of PINIONGIYA.
          * クラッチプレート(ドライブ)(4枚)・・・デフケースと一体回転する磨耗板。
            Clutch plate (drive) (four sheets) ... Wear board which DEFUKESU and really rotates.
          * クラッチプレート(ドリブン)(4枚)・・・サイドギヤと一体回転する磨耗板。
            Clutch plate (DORIBUN) (four sheets) ... Wear board which a side gear and really rotates.
          * サラバネ (2個)・・・プラッチプレートを常時加圧しておくバネ。
            SARABANE (two pieces) ... Spring which always pressurizes the PURATCHI plate.
          * ワッシャー(2個)・・・サイドギヤのスラストを受け、摺動部焼き付きを防止する。
            Washer (two pieces) ... 摺動部 printing is prevented in response to the thrust of a side gear. 



      ピニオンはピニオン十字軸を回転軸として,サイドギヤはピニオンに噛み合うべくそれぞれ組み立てられます。
      PINION sets the axis of rotation as a PINION cross axis, and a side gear is assembled, respectively so that it may gear to PINION.
      デフケース内側にはキー勘合し、軸方向に可動なプレッシャーリングがあり、プレッシャーリングの片面には十文字にV字状の溝があります。
      Key 勘合 is carried out at a DEFUKESU inner side, there is a movable pressure ring in the direction of an axis, and there is a V character-like slot in one side of a pressure ring crosswise.
      左右プレッシャーリングのV字溝でピニオン十字軸を挟みこむ。
      It is crowded with the V character slot of a right-and-left pressure ring on both sides of a PINION cross axis.
      従って、ピニオン十字軸はフロート状態にあり、デフケースとは直結していません。
      Therefore, a PINION cross axis is in a float state, and is not directly linked with DEFUKESU.

      *オープンデフでは、ピニオン十字軸はデフケースに串刺し状態(直結)である。
      * In OPUNDEFU, a PINION cross axis is in a food-on-a-skewer state (direct connection) at DEFUKESU.

      左右プレッシャーリングとデフケース内側面の間にはデフケースの内側にキー勘合するクラッチプレート(ドライブ・外ツメ)と、左右サイドギヤにキー勘合するクラッチプレート(ドリブン・内ツメ)が交互に配列配置されています。
      Between the right-and-left pressure ring and the DEFUKESU inner side side, arrangement arrangement of the clutch plate (a drive and outside TSUME) which carries out key 勘合 inside DEFUKESU, and the clutch plate (DORIBUN and inside TSUME) which carries out key 勘合 at a right-and-left side gear is carried out by turns.

      アクセルONで駆動力がLSDに入力されると、デフケースと一体回転するプレッシャーリングは回転しようとします。一方、車軸は慣性力により現状維持し続けようとします。
      If driving force is inputted into LSD with Accelerator ON, the pressure ring which DEFUKESU and really rotates tends to rotate. On the other hand, an axle tends to continue carrying out present condition maintenance according to inertia power.
      この両方の力が衝突するポイントは、フローとしているピニオン十字軸とプレッシャーリングのV字溝の部分です。
      The point with which the power of these both collides is the portion of the V character slot of a PINION cross axis and a pressure ring made into the flow.

      当初、ピニオン十字軸はV字溝の中央に納まっていますが、駆動力が作用するV字溝と慣性力が作用するピニオン十字字軸との間にはズレが生じ、クサビ効果によってオピニオン十字軸が左右プレッシャーリング(V字溝)を押し広げます。コレを「カム作用」と言います。
      Although the PINION cross axis is settled in the center of a V character slot at the beginning, gap arises between the V character slot on which driving force acts, and PINION cross 字軸 on which inertia power acts, and an opinion cross axis extends a right-and-left pressure ring (V character slot) according to the KUSABI effect. KORE is called "cam action."


      コレによって、交互に配列されたクラッチプレート(ドリブン・ドリブン)が押し付けられ、デフケースとサイドギヤがクラッチプレートを介してつながる。このクラッチプレートは左右ともに設けられるので、結果的に左右サイドギヤが繋がっている事になります。
      The clutch plate (DORIBUN DORIBUN) arranged by turns is pushed by KORE, and DEFUKESU and a side gear are connected through a clutch plate by it. Since, as for this clutch plate, right and left are prepared, the right-and-left side gear will be connected as a result.

      左右サイドギヤはクラッチプレートを介して繋がっているので、左右サイドギヤ結合率(ロック率)はカム作用に応じて変動する。カム作用は駆動力と慣性力のバランスによるものであり、コレが「トルク感応型」と呼ばれる所以である。
      Since the right-and-left side gear is connected through the clutch plate, the rate of right-and-left side gear combination (rate of Locke) is changed according to a cam action. A cam action is based on the balance of driving force and inertia power, and is a reason to which KORE is called a "torque induction type."
      決してメカニカルロック(ロック率100%)ではありません。
      It is never a MEKANIKARU lock (100% of rates of a lock).

      アクセルOFFまたはブレーキングで制動力がLSDに入力されると、カム作用は逆方向に作用する。 
      If braking power is inputted into LSD by Accelerator OFF or breaking, a cam action will act on an opposite direction.
      コレは、車軸が制動力、デフケース側が慣性力となるので力のバランスがアクセルON時とは逆になるからです。
      Since, as for KORE, a braking power and DEFUKESU side serves as [ an axle ] inertia power, the balance of power is because it becomes reverse at the time of Accelerator ON.

      カム作用はV字溝角度によってその特性を任意に設定する事ができます。
      A cam action can set up the characteristic arbitrarily with a V character slot angle.
          * V字溝角度を開き方向に設定した時
            When a V character slot angle is set up in the difference direction
            プレッシャーリングの押し広げ力は大きく作用する。LSDの効きは強い。
            A pressure ring extends and power acts greatly. Effectiveness of LSD is strong.
          * V字溝角度を閉じ方向に設定した時
            When a V character slot angle is closed and it is set as a direction
            プレッシャーリングの押し広げ力は小さく作用する。LSDの効きは弱い。
            A pressure ring extends and power acts small. Effectiveness of LSD is weak. 

      LSDはカム作用による特性の違いから、大きく3分類される。
      Three 分類s of LSD are enlarged from the difference in the characteristic by cam action.
         1. V字溝角度が左右対象であるもの・・・「2WAYカムタイプ」と呼ぶ。
            That whose V character slot angle is a candidate for right and left ... It is called "2WAY cam type."
            アクセルON/OFF両方でLSDが効く仕様。
            Specification which is effective by both accelerator ON/OFF.
         2. V字溝角度が左右非対称であるもの・・・「1.5WAYカムタイプ」と呼ぶ。
            a V character slot angle -- right and left -- an asymmetrical thing ... it is called a "1.5WAY cam type."
            アクセルOFF時のLSDの効きが弱い仕様。
            Specification with weak effectiveness of LSD at the time of Accelerator OFF.
         3. 時溝角度の一方が垂直であるもの・・・「1WAYカムタイプ」と呼ぶ。
            a time -- what has perpendicular one side of a slot angle ... it is called "1WAY cam type."
            アクセルOFF時のLSDの効きがゼロである仕様。
            Specification whose effectiveness of LSD at the time of Accelerator OFF is zero. 

      (イニシャルトルク)
      (Initial torque)
      サラバネによって多板クラッチに常時圧力を掛けています。
      Pressure is always put on the multiplate clutch by SARABANE.
      この圧力による多板クラッチの摩擦トルクを「イニシャルトルク」と言います。
      The friction torque of the multiplate clutch by this pressure is called "initial torque."

      イニシャルトルクには2つの役割があります。
      There are two roles in initial torque.
         1. ある程度以下のカム作用を制御する。→微笑駆動力変化によるハンチング防止。
            The following cam actions are controlled to some extent. Hunching prevention by -> smile driving force change.
         2. 差動・空転時のカム作用を助長する。→ピックアップの向上。
            The cam action at the time of differential and idling is promoted. Improvement in -> pickup. 

      また、イニシャルトルクを高くすると、常時LSDが効き放し(トルク感応でない)になり、旋回性の悪化を招く欠点があります。
      Moreover, if initial torque is made high, it becomes LSD being always effective and releasing (it not being torque induction), and there is a fault which causes aggravation of revolution nature.

      これら相反する役割と欠点を調和するには、車軸のスペック(出力、運動性能)を念頭に,用途に合わせた設計及び調整が必要になります。
      In order to harmonize these 相反する role and a fault, the design and adjustment which were united with the use are needed bearing in mind the spec. (an output, motile ability) of an axle.

      例:
      Example :
      レース、競技・・・・イニシャルトルク高め→LSD効き優先
      A race, game .... Initial torque higher ->LSD effectiveness priority
      ストリート・・・・ イニシャルトルク低め→トルク感応優先
      Street .... Priority is ->-torque-induction-given in slight initial torque lowness.

I might have to try and contact Mazda Japan somehow?? and find out what they can tell me about their LZ box with optional LSD, I may need to translate English to Japanese though if I can find a way.

Its from the Lantis Type R. The 93/08-96/06 had LSD as an option and the 96/07-97/12 had it standard according to http://www.alljapanesecars.com/viewc...=1994&mc=CBAEP
So those with the v6 should be able to get the later model box and get it as standard...........yay
The other prob with www.mazda.co.jp is that it doesnt translate to well so I had to sit here for a few hours translating every part bit by bit and in the end I think I got it right and then tyed all the parts to the enquiry in english then translated to Japanese and then sent it so I hope they understand it and get back too me

i just did a quick search and you are right about the lsd been std from after 96/7. several sites also said it was option till 96/7 then std from then on.

this means all i have to do is find a 96/7 on lantis gearbox and i will have a manual and a lsd

I am currently in email conversation with some one from Mazda Japan and hopefully soon I will be able to get the technical specifics that we are chasing . I have also asked whether they have any diagrams/ data/manuals for this part and have offered to purchase them. I am playing the lost puppy with a nice woman there and hopefully it has been met sympathetically, and that our help is not far away

stock as a rock no cryogenic crap lol.. I think better idea is to strengthen the housing I have trashed 2 housings .. Basically the drive pushes the end bearing thru the divining wall between the 5th gear and the rest of the box..
But I have done that either... lol I jut keep replacing them and vowing not to launch hard any more .. lol
and in one of the mx6s I have a phantom grip.. not so good (by a long shot)
