Doule's SR2
Hey everyone, been following astinaGT for a while, seen some awesome cars and love the forums, seems like a good group to be involved with.
This 2001 KQ Laser SR2 is my first car after a rigorous search, which included a 2000 Ford Mondeo ST24, 2000 Ford laser glxi and a 2006 Kia Sorato (good one dad). Found this beauty listed as a lxi and went to check it out straight away and a week later she was sitting in my driveway as i walked home from school Test Drive, was meant to be The car was stock standard and remained that way for a while, and got me through my licence test |

First thing i planned was to paint the chrome trim, so got that all nice and matte black
Was pretty happy with the results Next was the spoiler, where the clear coat was starting to chip and peel so after a good amount of time sanding, painted that matte black to match. After that I thought i would keep it stock, but always wanted to do things to it, so after seeing a lot of awesome examples i thought I would finally give in to the mod bug and see where it takes me. This is the car today, am thinking the usual sort of stuff, lose some of the 4x4 stance, wheels, exhaust. And with some time off Uni coming up, got to fill it somehow Would love ideas and feedback from you guys. Cheers Last edited by Doule; 16-06-2014 at 10:43 AM. |

which size wheels would best offset the car? 17's or 18's? along with lowering it

That depends on how you like your ride... but IMO 18s too big forma daily drive. Also depends on how your going to lower it and how wide you want your wheels.

going to be grabbing some supplies soon for tinting lights, painting (front lip and rear valence). Thinking about painting the calipers, am thinking either a gold or black. Think that the red will be too bright against the dark red of the car

Picked up some nite shade, caliper paint and some matte black plasti dip.
As the weather was pretty good today (not raining), spent today painting the rear valence and front lip matte black. All masked up and ready to go | Will get a photo tomorrow of the finished product, but I'm pretty happy with the look, makes the lip really stand out |

The whole rear bumper has to come off and then id still have to tape it exactly the same, the front lip could have come off, and i gave it a crack but it gave it a better position to paint on the car

Finished products, also resprayed the grill as the paint was starting to chip, as the original time was only done in export paint
Hoping to get the calipers and tint done next week |

Finally got round to tinting my tail lights and side indicators
Much better than the bright red and orange of stock but still perfectly visible |
