Believe it or not there is an 'H' in what.

Vehicle Speed = Km/h
Engine Speed = RPM
Engine temp = celsius

But what Cosmo said is right

Voltage if you have a big system. And i think the other one you mean is air/fuel ratio.

yep there the ones i ment they would be more important to me than a boost gauge :P well while i dont have a car with a turbo that is :P

so here is a question:

if you have to pick 3 what three would u all pick? (obulessly everyone will have different answers which is cool as sum of us are N/A and others arnt)

some examples:
oil presure, oil temp, voltage, boost, air/fuel ratio and i am sure there are a few more

there is no point to this question i am just curious.

i would prob being N/A and into car audio pick air/fuel ratio, oil temp, voltage

Fuel pressure is also useful.. fuel pressure dropping off while at WOT and high boost = extreme engine death....mind you wideband AFR would give you an indication that something wasn't right as you watch it lean right out.

I've got oil pressure and oil temp in teh garage waiting for the gauge pods to be finished - i'll be going fuel pressure as well...otherwise most other things are displayed on the microtech dash.

THe go with mechanical gauges over electric..electric gauges have a sender which is in the engine bay, basically a sensor, which then sends a signal to the gauge and it displays the readout.. mechanical reads its information directly from the source..so a mechanical oil pressure gauge would have an oil line running to it...as far as I know most mechanical gauges are illegal to have on a street driven car (if you burst an oil line inside the car, or a fuel line inside the car, results could be nasty)

mechanical gauges are illegal to have in the cabin - under hood they are fine, other wise you need an electronic with a sender...

but most mechanics should know that

no because generally every cas has different threads, and size on the sender location... There will be guages that will *work* off your existing wiring (ie tacho), but generally for things like coolant temp, oil pressure etc. you've got to buy the senders seperately...

Are you after the guages to look good, or be functional???
