Diff/Gearbox Problem URGENT!!!

now i need some answers urgent as i need the car for work experience, but the problem is that when im turning while the clutch is in its fine, however if i let it out and apply a little power it starts clunking and jamming, sort of like the wheel well trim is jamming on the tyre.

i originally thought it was a CV's but i pulled them out and they looked fine so i put em back in then while it was jacked up i was spinning the wheel and it locks up. i then removed the CV again and only installed the gearbox end of the CV and started spinning that and it locks up.

how do i fix this without swapping the gearbox with my spare,[which includes swapping the CV's clutch and flywheel]

It is most likely something going on inside the gearbox. Most gearbox issues require gearbox out anyway, thats why when my gearbox started having issues i just swapped it out.

When you say you have to change cvs and flywheel etc what gearbox do have spare

Sounds like the diff/spider gears...sort of. Or it actually is the CVs

either broken pinion gears in the diff or a broken clutch... more likely the former
the BG G series has a weak diff, which was fixed in the BA G series box

Sounds exactly like what has happened to my three F series diffs that failed on me.
Be prepared for a gearbox swap.

It's electronic. Just unplug it. Easy! As for removing it, hopefully it comes out, remove cvs and layshaft, cross member, unplug everything. Unbolt starter motor. Undo 11ty billion bolts holding it on. Get a jack to support it, pry it off the dowlpins. Then lower box on Jack.

good excuse to throw in an mfactory diff now
don't toss that gearbox if you don't want it.... I'm sure it'll be useful to someone who will rebuild it with an mfactory

the G series boxes on the BA are more rare, so they're worth something, even when stuffed

If it is a g series, I'll help you swap it for a new one and take it as payment for the two hours travel.

exactly what i was about to say haha, it'll be the diff for sure mate, especially if it's binding up around corners when it's being driven, my last gearbox was like that and then it would make a massive loud bang (could here it over 200meters away) and free up and then just start binding up again, but yer time for a new box

It has a different housing. I don't think its as simple as bolting on the bellhousing, the cvs will be different to bg, and different to the f series box. Either find yourself a new box or see if a bg box can be used. Is advise not driving the car
