HOW TO: Darkening your lights for a euro look

Heres a quick and easy guide to darken any lights for that european look..

What you need:
1 can of nightshades
1 phillips screwdriver (to remove lights)
newspaper so you dont dirty everywhere
skill (not provided)

What to do:

Simply take off your lights and seperate the lense from the rest of the light unit. As you can see I have done my indicators but soon my back lights are to follow.. Which means i removed the orange plastic from therest of the light.

Once this is done set some newspaper or something that you dont care if it get dirty on the floor so that you have something to put your drying produucts on to..

Now simply take the part you want darkened and using the nightshades spray, and swift light sideways strokes, cover the lense in light coats.

Depending on how dar you want it do a few coats but make sure you dont overdoo it. Wait for the translucent paint to dry and then put everything back on your car..

Heres how mine look.. (also im not sure about the legallity of these but hey they shine orange at night so i dont really care and if i do get introuble il just get clears )

If you're going to do your taillights, separate them first and spray the inside, as Nightshades isn't glossy

and you've got a V6 - where the hell are your driving lights?

How do you make your lights dark so they look cool?
How do you make them bright so they are safe?

Cars would loo so cool without lights,

Nice litte walk through there. IMO though, nightshades is crap! As Rupe said, it drys to a matt finish which = gay. The problem with spraying the inside is that you can get a very uneven look due to different thicknesses in the plastic lens.

IF you are going to tint lights (i say if because with cosmo dude's commments it's illegal) the best way is to have the outsides of the lens's prepped and then sprayed in two pack clear with some black paint added to it.

Here's how it came out on my old laser.
